2. Booking & Privacy

2.1 The Lead Booker

The person who makes the booking is considered the “Lead Booker.” The Lead Booker warrants that they have the authority to book on behalf of all persons named in the booking. The Lead Booker is responsible for making all payments due to us and for ensuring that all members of the party are kept informed of the booking details and these Terms.

2.2 Privacy & Data Protection

We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. The Lead Booker confirms they have obtained the explicit consent of all party members to share their personal data, including sensitive information (such as allergies or health conditions), with Direct North for the purpose of fulfilling the booking.

Your booking is only confirmed once the required deposit or full payment has been received.

4. Cancellation & Refund Policy

Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to mail@directnorthtravel.com.

Important: A cancellation is only considered valid and effective once you have received a written confirmation of receipt from Direct North. If you do not receive a confirmation within 24 hours, please contact us immediately to ensure your request has been processed.

  • 14 days or more before start: Full refund issued. Rescheduling is possible (subject to availability).

5. Mandatory Legal Protections

5.1 Travel Guarantee (Resegaranti)

Svedlander AB has provided a travel guarantee to the Swedish Legal, Financial and Administrative Services Agency (Kammarkollegiet). This ensures that your payments are protected in the event of our insolvency. For more information visit our travel guarantee page.

5.2 Right to Transfer the Booking (Packages Only)

In accordance with the Swedish Package Travel Act, you may transfer your package booking to another person who satisfies all conditions of the contract. You must notify us at least seven (7) days before departure. Any additional costs or administrative fees arising from the transfer will be charged to the Client.

5.3 No Statutory Right of Withdrawal

The statutory 14-day right of withdrawal (Ångerrätt) for distance contracts does not apply to travel services (transport, accommodation, or leisure activities on specific dates) under Swedish law. All bookings are final.

6. Amendments & Cancellations by Direct North

6.1 Amendments by the Client

We will attempt to accommodate requested changes to your booking, subject to availability. An administrative fee may apply in addition to any price differences.

6.2 Cancellation by Us

Direct North shall not be liable for cancellations or changes caused by “Extraordinary and Unavoidable Circumstances”, such as extreme weather, safety risks, strikes, or natural disasters. In such cases, we will offer an alternative date or a refund of payments made, minus irrecoverable costs.

7. Liability & Insurance

7.1 Limitation of Liability and Role as Provider

Direct North (Svedlander AB) acts as the organizer and provider of the Travel Package or Guided Tour. We exercise due care in the selection of our partners, including hotels, transport companies, other tour operators, and activity providers.

  • Third-Party Services: Services provided by third parties (e.g., accommodation, scheduled transport, or specific activity guides) are also bound by their own policies and conditions. Any injury, loss, or damage arising from the actions, policies, or negligence of a third-party service provider is subject to the limitations of that provider’s liability.
  • Your Responsibility for Activities: Participation in all activities we offer—including optional activities or those organized by third parties—is undertaken at your own risk. You are responsible for judging your own fitness and ability to participate safely.

7.2 General Limitation of Liability

We are responsible for the proper arrangement of your booking. However, we are not liable for any personal injury, illness, death, or property damage sustained by you or your party members, except where such injury or damage is caused by our proven negligence.

  • Maximum Liability: Except for claims relating to personal injury or death, our maximum liability for any other claim (e.g., financial loss, property damage) is limited to a maximum of three times the price of the affected travel service.

7.3 Travel Insurance and Adequate Cover

Direct North does not provide insurance.

It is your responsibility to ensure that any insurance cover you purchase provides adequate cover for your needs, the full duration of your stay, and includes cover for all activities undertaken during the tour (e.g., winter sports, boat travel, or specific adventure activities).

Important: We encourage all participants to read their insurance policies carefully before traveling to ensure they are fully covered for trip cancellation, medical emergencies, and potential liability issues.

8. Jurisdiction & Disputes

This contract is governed by Swedish Law. In the event of a dispute that cannot be resolved directly with us, consumers may refer the matter to the National Board for Consumer Disputes (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden – ARN) or use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.
