Description
Have you always wanted to capture the blue eyes of a husky, the Swedish “King of the Forest” Moose, or Laplands breathtaking landscapes? This is your chance to do so alongside an experienced photographer! We have joined forces with a professional photographer based in Lapland to create this unforgettable experience with the Photography lapland week.
What to expect?
This is a fully arranged week for a small group (maximum 8 people), providing a great opportunity to learn and explore. The week offers a perfect mix of education, hands-on practice, and experiencing Lapland in diverse ways.
We will highlight three main subjects: animals (huskies and wildlife), landscapes and history/architecture. Each subject is paired with a guided tour, theoretical insights, and on-site assistance. It is, in our eyes, the perfect trip for anyone with an interest in nature, photography, and the spirit of Lapland.
- Dining: Breakfast is served by the hotel. Lunches are provided during activities, both outdoors and inside traditional grill huts. Dinners are a mix of restaurant visits and meals prepared over an open fire.
- Your Guide: Monica will be your personal guide for the entire week. She will lead the activities, prepare meals, share her local knowledge, and assist with any questions you may have.
- Your Expert: Damian will be your photography expert. With many years of experience and Lapland as his “backyard”, he will share his knowledge with you through both theory and practice.
For who is it?
It is for everyone with a big interest in photography, but you want to take it to the next level. The only thing we ask is that you already know how to make pictures, feel comfortable working with your own camera, know the basics and have your own gear. Then this arranged week is something for you! A perfect mix to experience Lapland, meet new people with the same interest and grow your knowledge on photography.
Program
Monday you will arrive on Luleå airport, where we will pick you up and drive towards the accommodation. You have all the time to settle in for the week. Depending on the weather how we divide the activities over the days. But Tuesday , Wensday and Thursday will be full focus on photography and the activities.
Before every activity, our expert will give guidelines, tips and tricks to get the best picture in that situation. During this time you can ask questions for that specific activity. You have all the time to experience the activity itself and to make the perfect picture you imagined. During the activity your guide Monica, will explain what to expect, share fun facts and guide your through the activities. And what makes our activities during this week so special, is that we will create the opportunity to take your camera and try different angles. During the activities the photography expert will be following. Giving guidance during the activities and of course the possibility to questions and assistance.
On Friday, it will unfortunately be time to go home, but not without looking back on a great week of experience and a nice breakfast.

Do I need specific camera gear?
Not necessarily, but you will need a camera with at least one lens. Most participants find an SLR or mirrorless camera works best for the workshops. Please don’t forget to pack your batteries and chargers so you can start each day with a full charge!
Regarding wildlife: Keep in mind that the close-up wildlife shots you see online are typically taken with very large zoom lenses. While we will go on a moose safari and can often get quite close, we always maintain a safe, respectful distance from the animals. If you own a zoom lens or can borrow one, feel free to bring it—but it is certainly not required to enjoy the experience. (Please also note that while we’ll try our best, moose sightings aren’t guaranteed!)
Finally, a tripod is always a great addition to your kit. If yours is too bulky to travel with, don’t worry. The tripod is the one piece of equipment we have available for you to borrow upon request.
For who is this week?
This experience is for anyone with a deep passion for wildlife, nature, and dog photography. If you already know the basics of your camera but have always wanted to work side-by-side with an expert, this is your chance!
You will experience the wilderness with the best of both worlds: a local guide who knows the terrain and a photography expert who provides insightful lectures and “in-the-field” tips and tricks.
